Treck Dual Protocol Stack receives IPv6 Ready Phase 2 Approval

CINCINNATI, OH (June 20, 2005) – Treck Incorporated, a leading designer and distributor of embedded Internet protocols today announced that their IPv4/IPv6 dual protocol stack has been given Phase 2 approval by the IPv6-Ready Logo Program.

The IPv6 Ready Logo is a program lead by the IPv6 forum and is intended to promote IPv6 and ensure interoperability of IPv6 implementations. Applicants begin with a self test from ipv6.org and continued when a vendor submits an application with the test results for verification by ipv6 forum officers.

“Receiving the IPv6 Ready Logo Phase 2 shows our customers Treck's continued commitment to the deployment of IPv6 across a wide variety of platforms, while ensuring interoperability between them. With the logo, our customers can be sure that their devices will work correctly across IPv6 networks,” said Paul Martin, CEO of Treck Incorporated.

Phase 1 of the program ensures that an applicant's product (router, host, operating system, protocol stack, etc) includes the core mandatory protocols and achieves interoperability with other IPv6 implementations. Treck Inc.'s IPv4/IPv6 Dual stack earned the Phase 1 logo in 2003.

Ipv6ready.org states that Phase 2 of the program “implies a proper care, technical consensus and clear technical references. The IPv6 ready logo will indicate that a product has successfully satisfied strong requirements stated by the IPv6 Logo Committee (v6LC).” Treck successfully passed the second set of requirements and testing June 17, 2005.

Treck is currently preparing for Phase 3 testing, which includes IP Security for IPv6.
